Boracay

Boracay is a small island in the Philippines at the northwest tip of Panay Island in the Western Visayas regio. Boracay Island and its beaches have received awards from numerous travel publications and agencies. The island is administered by the Philippine Tourism Authority and the provincial government of Aklan.

In 2012, Boracay was awarded as the best island in the world from the international travel magazine Travel + Leisure. It still continues to get recognition by travel authorities and magazines.

Much has been said and written about Boracay since the island offers a lot of activities for visitors.

Commune with the sea and frolic in its white sand all day long.

Relax while having a massage under the coconut trees near the beach.

Enjoy the several outdoor activities like the Banana Boat Ride, Windsurf, Beach Volleyball, scuba dive, etc.

Getting to Boracay Island

By Air

The fastest way to Boracay is to fly from Manila to Caticlan Airport in Panay Island. There are also direct flights from Cebu and other places. Flight time from Manila to Caticlan is approximately 50 minutes. Check the airline for schedules.

One may also take the Manila-Kalibo flight. Then take a bus, jeep or shuttle to Caticlan Port. Travel time is 1 1/2 to 2 hours.  Some people opt for this route to get a chance to explore Kalibo which also has its own tourist attractions.

By Sea

The availability of vessels from Batangas Port makes going to Boracay easy and convenient.

Buses that go directly to Batanga Port can be found in terminals either in Pasay City or Quezon City. The bus ride is approximately 3-4 hours. The boat ride takes about 6-8 hours.
