What to do in Albay

People will always think of the Mayon Volcano when the province of Albay is mentioned. The 2,463 meter volcano can be seen from all angles in the province. 1. Waterfall hopping

Due to the topography of the province, numerous waterfalls can be found. A recent find is the Quitinday Falls in Jovellar town. This waterfall has a subterranean river which can be navigated with a bamboo raft. There is also the Busay Falls in Malilipot, Vera Falls in Malinao, and Kitwinan Falls in Camalig.

2. Mountain climbing

The mountain-volcano is currently off-limits to climbers but Masaraga and Malinao is open for those who want to climb them. These two mountains are extinct volcanoes and climbers can enjoy the view as well as the flora that abounds.

For those who just want a breeze walk, the Quitinday Hills in Camalig town is available. Kawa-Kawa Hill found in Ligao City is a pilgrimage site with its 1000 step Stations of the Cross. Both hills command a good view of Albay province. Ligñon Hill overlooks the Legazpi City Airport is an “adventure hill,” offering recreational activities.

3. Find something to bring home
